If you’re fortunate enough to be in Valencia during the holidays, be sure to take advantage of it.
For starters, check out the Fallas festival! People will spend an entire year building large sculptures to only throw fireworks at it and burn it down on this day. During this festival, adults and children will dress up in fancy outfits.
Towards the end of the festival, a huge sculpture will be set on fire in the center of the city. Some of these sculptures can cost up to 100,000 euros to build. During this time of year, the city is packed with tourists. This festival is strange, yet one of the best things to be apart of.
The central square is great to grab a lunch or dinner or tapas! In this area, you can find the local dish, Valencian paella!
