La Lonja de Valencia is a gothic civil style building is a major tourist attraction here in Valencia located in the market square. Pere Compte gave direction to build this structure in 1498. He passed away before the building was complete, however, others continued his work and the La Lonja de Valencia came to be in 1548.
This gothic structure is formed by three different parts, the hiring hall, the central tower, and the Consolat del Mar. The central tower has three floors that were used to imprison merchants that were bankrupt.
It costs two euros for admission. On Sundays and Holidays it is free.
Open Monday-Saturday, from 10:00am to 7:00pm
Open Sunday and Holidays from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Closed January 1-6, May 1, and December 25th.
