Last Sunday of February
This event is seen as the starting shot and marks the beginning of the Fallas period. Fallas are the most representative event of the city of Valencia and consist of loud and colourful fireworks, figures made of papier-mâché, women in traditional dresses, tents in the streets, typical Spanish churros with chocolate, lights in the streets and a vast amount of traditions that brought the event to international importance. During these days, the city becomes a meeting point for international tourism because there is nothing similar to Fallas!
